Edmonton International Airport is located approximately 30 kilometers south of the conference venue. Ground transportation options include taxi/limo, Skyshuttle, or Edmonton Transit (ETS). Parking at Matrix Hotel is included with your room rate should you, alternatively, wish to rent a car at EIA.
The EIA Ground Transportation Booth, is open 24-hours a day on the Arrivals level by Door 7. Skyshuttle check-in is there, and Edmonton Transit tickets can be purchased there.
Taxi/Limo one-way fares to downtown (incl. Matrix Hotel) are $55/$66 flat rate.
Skyshuttle services most city hotels including Matrix. One-way trips are $18. Book in advance online.
ETS 747 Bus route fare is $5. You may pay the driver in cash or purchase tickets at the Ground Transportation Booth. The bus takes you to the Century Park LRT Station where you transfer to the LRT (additional $3.75 cash fare). The main (Capital) LRT line includes stops at UAlberta and downtown. Matrix Hotel is a 3-minute walk from Corona Station. The 747 Bus stop is located outside Door 8 on Arrivals level. Additional details here.
Driving to the Conference
Self-parking is complimentary for all registered hotel guests (guests staying overnight at the hotel) from time of arrival until 4pm day of departure.
For non-registered hotel guests, parking is available in the Hotel Parking lot, north of the hotel. These parking rate are subject to change without notice:
- Daily Rate (Mon – Fri) 6am – 6pm $26.00
- 1⁄2 hour Rate (Mon-Fri) 6am-6pm $2.50/1⁄2 hr
- Evening Rate (Mon – Fri) 6pm-6am $5.00
- Weekends and Holidays $3.00
Getting Around Edmonton
Matrix Hotel is located nearby Corona Station where you can access Edmonton Transit System (ETS) Light-Rail Train (LRT). Adult cash fare is $3.75. The main (North) campus of University of Alberta is serviced by University Station. CRAFT Beer Market (Thursday Pub Night) is a 3-minute walk from Central Station.
From Matrix Hotel there is plenty to see and do within walking distance, including access to the river valley, the local favourite destination for relaxation.
